Transforming Health Together

Strengthening Communities. Advancing Health. Transforming Care.

Baylor Scott & White Health and Memorial Hermann Health System have approved a letter of intent to merge into a new combined system to further strengthen communities, advance the health of Texans and transform the delivery of healthcare.

Transforming Care

The national healthcare landscape continues to shift dramatically. The combination of high costs, changing consumer and industry expectations, rapidly-evolving digital innovation and a surge of new entrants to the market makes it ripe for transformation.

Baylor Scott & White Health and Memorial Hermann are mission-driven organizations with century-long legacies of service and innovation. It is critical that our organizations – two of the most comprehensive not-for-profit health systems in Texas – proactively drive change, while growing our commitment to all individuals and the communities we serve.

To remain at the forefront of defining how healthcare will be delivered into the future, health systems like ours must be bold and seize opportunities to align with like-minded partners.

Texans need organizations with histories of leadership like ours to step up. Texas ranks 44th in overall health, and Texas has the highest uninsured rate in the nation.

By combining our strengths and our commitments to drive change for those we serve, we can strengthen our communities, advance the health of all Texans, including the most vulnerable, and transform the delivery of care.

What We Share

As a new combined system, we will be in a position to create a national model for integrated, high-value, convenient, affordable care.
